Indian skateboarding is young, and it grew out of cracked tar, borrowed boards and parks poured by volunteers. Auroville had surfing, skateboarding and a concrete mini ramp early on, and in 2006 a small bowl went up in Goa. The Holystoked crew formed in Bengaluru in 2010. In 2013 Holystoked, Make Life Skate Life and 34 volunteers built India's first free public park, and that is where it all started properly. The park went viral, people began to take skateboarding seriously, and skaters came from all over the world for the Third Eye tour and the Holy Detour skate trip.
We are a community driven by grit, built on persistence, and united by skateboarding.

Our founder, Anish Christopher aka Kevin, came up in that scene. He started skating in Bengaluru in 2012 with the Holystoked crew, was coaching kids within a few years, and started building DIY skateparks before moving into professionally building world standard skateparks. He also appears in the Netflix film Skater Girl.
Kevin founded Toucan Distribution in Bengaluru with Jerin Luke and Arun Karottu. The first stockroom was the spare bedroom in his apartment.

ONE
LAST
TRY
Our motto.
The light is going,
your legs are done,
and you go again.
It's the first lesson at the Academy,
and it's often the try that lands.
Ride it first
Everything we make is tested on our own setups through Indian summers and monsoons. Every park is ridden by our team before handover. If it doesn't ride right, it isn't finished.
No gatekeeping
First day on a board or first contest run: same park, same session, same respect.
Skate what you've got
Broken tar, long monsoons, one park for a whole city. We skate it anyway, and we'll run a session anywhere that's skateable.
Credit the scene
We name the riders, filmers and artists behind our work. We back the crews who came before us and the ones skating with us now.
